I will be in Vienna next week and I need all help I can get. I am looking for classics, hidden secrets and anything stylish in the way that just the Austrian traditionals manage to do it.
What I need really urgently is a personal, old-fashioned hotel or pension with class. Do you know of anything? Just nothing modern, when going to Vienna I hunting old fashion style!

i seem to have an american/english theme, but the Burg Kino continues to show ‘The third man’ weekly. when i was last there it played every friday at midnight and it is quite magical to see this black and white classic on the big screen in the city in which it was filmed: http://www.burgkino.at/frameset_specials.phtml

Das Café Sperl und das Café Jelinek sind noch original Wiener Kaffeehäuser. Richtig wienerisch gehts in den Beisln zu, wenn noch schönes Wetter ist, ist der Geheimtipp eines Wieners, der Stadtheurigen in der Piaristengasse.

Danke Bea! Ich mache mich jetzt auf dem weg ins Jelinek (machte schon um 7 aus, super! Sperl leider erst um 9).
Habe leider zu erst dein post gesehen und schon mein Gulasch für diese reise gehabt (mann muss sich begrenzen, es gibt viel zu wenig Mahlzeiten pro tag 🙁 War in Café Engländer und der war sehr sehr gut auch. Aber nächstes mal unbedingt bei Das Alt Wien!
